• WVS-ITC-training-center-for-vets

In 2010, together with Worldwide Veterinary Service India, IPAN established a training center WVS ITC near Ooty, in the Nilgiris. The center is funded from grants from UK and its objective is to provide veterinary skills development, especially in the field of humane dog population control, to veterinarians as well as assisting staff from all over India. The WVS ITC arranges surgery courses throughout the year and runs a very systematic and effective Animal Birth Control (ABC) program that covers the Nilgiris district as well as many municipalities and panchayats from the bordering district as well. The WVS ITC team also arranges annual booster vaccination drives in different parts of the district.

Once in 2-3 months the WVS ITC team arranges working equine welfare clinics in various parts of Tamil Nadu and the team has also visited communities with working horses in the Delhi region, providing free medical care, farrier service and training.

Funding for the IPAN’s WVS ITC project comes from the registered charity Worldwide Veterinary Service in UK.
